Management Team
Dr. Ojibulem Laurence MCIPS – Chairman
Currently the Chairman of Law Phil Technologies Ltd. the owners of RIVOC. He is also the Business Development Director at Val Hospital Medicals Ltd (a healthcare technology company) based in the UK. Dr Laurence’s role involves taking ideas generated from university laboratories to the market place, by channelling talents and techniques to create value. As Business Development Director, he represents the company at events in the UK and abroad. Recently he represented the firm at a Life Science Conference in Japan, where he demonstrated (as part of the UK team of experts) examples of University Enterprise linkages with Val hospital Medicals Ltd, as example. He was also Enterprise Champion for Northern Ireland, and worked as Research Team Leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) before that.
He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) in the UK and participated in the E-U Japan HRTP24 (Management training programme) 1999-2000. He invented and patented world first flat-pack mobile technology for medical application. He delivers lectures across the world and was an industrial tutor at Cranfield University, UK.
Between 2007 and 2009, he participated in a prestigious International Entrepreneurship Educators Research Programme (IEEP) graduating as a fellow. As a member of IEEP Doctorial Group, he co-developed models of business planning for start-Up ventures, involving taking entrepreneurs on a journey through the key elements of entrepreneurial success-passion, planning and pursuits. He assisted graduates (through practical, hands-on activities and expert instructions); to experience a business planning process that successfully turns entrepreneurial dreams to reality. He initiated and developed tools (pedagogies) to assess abilities in key entrepreneurial skills, as well to as evaluate the feasibility of their ideas and help plan for a successful business start-up.
Dr. Laurence has participated in various residential programmes spanning SAID Business School at Oxford University, Judge Business School at University of Cambridge as well as a summer programme at the Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership, at the University of Illinois USA. He is vast in entrepreneurial eco-systems and able to deliver world class pedagogies to maximise the capacity of trainers/trainees to meet key entrepreneurial outcomes. Allied to these are further Research undertaken in Private Sector Cluster Development, a Book “the Rudiments of Entrepreneurship’’ (unpublished) and an Article “Leadership: The Starting Point ‘’ (published).
He was also a shadow member of Board of the Science and Industry Partnership SIP in the UK, and participated at the International Entrepreneurship Educators Programme (IEEP), National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE) and Kauffman Foundation for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
He was once the Chairman of the Niger Delta Nigerian Diaspora for Development and between 2001 and 2004 was responsible for the review of procurement policy and spend analysis for 18 hospital projects across West Africa.

HEALTH SAFETY ENVIRONMENT POLICY
Law Phil Technologies Limited’s activities are undertaken with integrity,responsibility and respect for the environment and the community in whichour activities take place. This entails conducting operations in an ethicallyand practically sound manner that minimizes risks and places high priorityon the safety of those involved in Law Phil Technologies Limited’s oil and gasoperations
- Comply with all applicable Health,Safety and Environment (HSE) laws,regulations and standards and to applyresponsible standards where legislation is inadequate or does not exist.
- A systematic framework of hazardidentification and risk assessment through which safe operations can be managed.
- Develop effectiveHSE management systems to identify and manage risks associated with itsactivities by focusing on risk avoidance and prevention.
- Establish accountability and responsibility for HSE within organizationalline management.
- Providet raining, equipment, and facilities necessary to maintain a safe and healthy worksite.
- Support environmental protection, practice pollution prevention, and seek viable ways to minimize the environmental impact of operations,reduce waste, conserve resources and respect biodiversity.
- Protect and minimize any harm to the environment in our oil and gas activities, and continuously focus on improving our environmental procedures.
- Monitor and review our CSR and HSE policies and procedures on a regular basis to ensure suitability and effectiveness.
- Ensure that partners and contractors’ policies are compliant with our own standards and recognize that all working on our behalf can impact our operation and reputation and that we all share a common responsibility for our safety.
Environmental Policy
LAW PHIL recognizes the impacts of its business operations on the environment due to consumption of resources like energy & water. Hence, it will continuously make efforts to optimize resource efficiency & reduce wastes.
It is our belief that protection of the environment, business development and growth can be compatible & sustainable. LAW PHIL demonstrates acceptance of responsibility for its actions in regard to the environment. We will continually review and improve the environmental management system to comply with ISO 14001 and relevant statutory legislative requirements.
LAW PHIL aims to fulfil its environmental commitments through the following policy:
- All business operations be conducted in compliance with the applicable environmental, laws.
Preserve the environment from the impact of hydrocarbon refiningactivities onshore, and transport from swamp to offshore, notably by using efficient resources to avert adverse consequences. - Fully comply with or exceed all applicable environmental legislation, regulations and rules, and endeavor to develop and apply complementary voluntary standards.
- Promote throughout the company a strong environmental ethic as part of its culture
- Communicate regularly with employees, sub-contractors, the community and regulatory authorities on environmental activities;
- Develop and implement effective management systems that encourage proactive environmental management and continuous improvement;
- Consider favorably, suppliers and sub-contractors who pursue good environmental management practices.
- Take responsibility to encourage staff and personnel to accept our environmental standards and guidelines and encourage them to develop strategies of their own.
This Environment policy statement confirms our intent to create and implement sound environmental principles throughout the company and is available to all employees and the public upon request. This policy shall be reviewed at regular and planned intervals.
QUALITY POLICY
LAW PHIL will consistently deliver world-class products and services. We arecommitted to meeting or exceeding our customer expectations through thecontinual improvement of our systems and processes. There is a totalmanagement commitment, continual improvements with regard to providingthose products and services to customer’s agreed requirements and withinspecified deliveryperiods, to achieve total customer satisfaction, all inaccordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000
Our quality manual shall describe how our quality system is designed toensure that all contractual and regulatory requirements are recognized, andthat control of these requirements are adequately maintained.
Law Phil aims to ensure:
- That trained and competent personnel are available focusing at all times on customers’ needs and expectations.
- That a customer satisfaction index of not less than 80%, is maintained.That all aspects of our QMS will be audited at least twice a year.
- That compliance with relevant local, national and international statutory and regulatory requirements guiding our operations and industry is achieved.
Our ability to meet the goals set out in the Policy Statement as detailedabove, will be reviewed at the Management Review meeting, and updatedif necessary. Specific measurable objectives will be set annually at theManagement Review meeting and reviewed and updated as the objectivesdevelop. All employees are made aware of this policy and its objectives andare committed to its implementation.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS POLICY
Our policy is to give our host and neighboring communities their due regards and support at the same time vigorously defend our rights to conduct our legitimate business.
Empowerment of local communities shall remain a vital part of our focus at all times.
Communities matters shall get prompt attention and as such, decisions once taken shall be implemented speedily.
Good communication channels/interactions will be maintained with host and neighboring communities on better understanding and co-operations;
Our main drive shall go beyond memorandum of agreement with the communities and be pro-active to issues relating thereto.
We have a cooperate social responsibility with these communities, to consistently look out for their social needs, and find practical and sustainable ways of meeting these needs, within our resources.
Staff at all levels shall be expected and be able to act within this policy in their interaction with the communities, also all sub-contractors shall be guided by this policy.
